iPhone 3G Network Problems?

iPhone 3G Network Problems?

I have an iPhone 2G and actually signed up back in July for an upgrade. However, if you remember, there were many problems with the advanced booking system in the UK and elsewhere and therefore even though I entered the authentication code, I could not successfully sign up and never got my upgrade.

Now I feel that perhaps that was good since we have been hearing gripes by some major network carriers about alleged problems with the new iPhone 3G such as connection and reception issues. In typical style, Apple apparently gave some of these carriers (we don’t know which one), the iPhone only one day before the official launch and therefore these carries did not get to test the device properly.

T-Mobile (in Netherlands) and Vodaphone (in Australia) are now crying fowl publicly saying that the connection and reception problems that some users are reporting about had nothing to do with their networks but rather an issue with the iPhone 3G device itself! Jessica Forrest, a spokeswoman for Vodafone Australia, said that they were working with Apple to resolve these issues.

I will be getting my upgrade in a few months time when all these issues would hopefully have been sorted out!
