ASUS F6V Laptops With Fragrance

ASUS has once again set the trend, not only in presenting the most innovative gadgetry, but also in appealing to the primeval inclinations of intelligent professionals. After launching its eco-friendly ‘Bamboo’ laptop with real bamboo paneling, ASUS has now launched the F6V laptops that appeal to one’s sense of smell.

The laptops are not only top-in-line as far as features are concerned; but also smell good. They come in four highly glossy casings that are aesthetically pleasing, and include four scents to match the color concepts: Floral Blossom (floral scent), Musky Black (cologne scent), Morning Dew (grassy scent) and Aqua Ocean (ocean scent). Professionals who are tired of the smell of plastic or steel now have a choice. Scents tend to relax, relieve stress and dictate moods. ASUS seems to be playing on these human responses, in designing these latest laptops.

ASUS has been known to be a market leader in presenting innovative laptops such as the G2P gamers’ laptop, the W5Fe with external second screen, the LS201 with punchable, scratch-proof monitor, and many others with solution oriented features.

With the most advanced features that exceed customer expectations, the ASUS F6V is planning to target the high-end professional, inspite of its informal look. The ASUS F6V has a 13.3” WXGA screen, and includes an ergonomic palm rest made of white carbon fiber, providing the required durability for everyday use.

The F6V is equipped with an Intel Core2 Duo (T9400/ P8600/ P8400) processor with a speed of 2.4GHz, giving energy-efficient performance and the ability to run multiple applications at the same time. Again, preloaded with Windows Vista operating system (ultimate/ business/ home), the F6V leaves no requirements for upgradation. The Mobile Intel PM45 Express Chipset supports high-bandwidth components and delivers outstanding system performance for business purposes.

It also supports dual graphics required for extreme gaming. With a front side bus speed of 1066MHz and a 3MB L2 Cache to complement the processor, one can expect faster data transfer rate without bottle-necking, and quicker data retrieval. With a working memory of DDR2-667/ 800/ 2×1GB (up to 4GB), various applications can open, run and close efficiently. Hard disc drive capacity ranges from 120GB to 320GB with SATA.

Intel Wi-Fi link 5100AGN network connection gives good connectivity for the perfect browsing and emailing experience. It also provides increased simultaneous network activity, large file transfers, streaming video, multi-player gaming, VoIP and quick download capability.

ASUS F6V comes with a biometric AuthenTec fingerprint sensor with TruePrint technology, which accurately reads a number of fingerprints below the skin surface, for added security when it comes to privacy of personal data.

The ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 graphic card provides great detailing in photos, animation and 3D graphics required for gaming. Human skin tones are depicted with precision and accurate color saturation. The high-resolution webcam on the F6V’s LCD panel together with a built in microphone provides wire-free video conferencing.

High definition multimedia Interface (HDMI) ports allow 8-channel digital audio, data transfers of a bandwidth of 5Gbps using a single cable between external hardware. The Optical dual layer DVD writer drive more than meets the ROM requirements. The dimensions of the F6V are 31.2 x 23.19 x 3.2-3.52 cm, and it is currently priced at $1299.

Although the F6V is not slimmer than ASUS’ Eee range of laptops, it is quite slim and elegant. On the downside, no one knows how long the scents will last. They may last from three to six months depending on how many times the laptop is powered up. Scent or no scent, the F6V will continue to provide mind-blowing performance and meet the computing needs of the high-end user.
