Samsung S3 Slim MP3 Player Review

Samsung S3 Slim MP3 Player Review

Reviewed on 14 May 2009

The ongoing fall in flash memory prices is resulting in corresponding price reductions of MP3 player costs and a boom in the market. One of the most cost effective MP3 player options available today is the Samsung S3Slim. This is a really smart and slick looking player that can keep you occupied just looking at it even when it’s turned off. And the price? At $70 for the 4 GB version and $100 for the 8GB, there are few better deals, at least in terms of cost.

Transsiberian DVD Review

Transsiberian DVD Review

Reviewed on 21 April 2009

I like a good mystery, and Transsiberian delivers that and more. The film is about an American couple traveling on the Trans-Siberian Express, a train twisting across the Siberian landscape. Woody Harrelson plays Roy, a practicing Christian on his way to Moscow after doing volunteer work with needy children in China. He enjoys trains, is a bit naive, and his engaging personality draws people to him. On the other hand, his traveling companion and wife, Jessie (Emily Mortimer), a photographer, is distant and suspicious, and seems very brooding and dark to Roy’s light and childlike personality.

My rating: ★★★½☆

T-Mobile G1 Cell Phone Review

T-Mobile G1 Cell Phone Review

Reviewed on 30 March 2009

When you first see the G1 in a shop window, it’s easy to overlook it. It appears to be just another one of the competent but bland series of cell phones that HTC produces on such a regular basis. But to overlook the phone would be a big mistake. Users are not going to love this phone for the way it looks, but for what it does.

Fujifilm F2000EXR Review

Fujifilm F2000EXR Review

Reviewed on 17 March 2009

Fujifilm recently announced the launch of three new cameras, the A100, the A150 and F200EXR.

The A100 and A150 are nothing to write home about – both are entry level DSLRs with 10 megapixels, face detection, image stabilization, 30 fps video capability and lots of scene modes. These are ideal cameras for beginners and that’s about it. In case you are wondering about the differences in specs between the two models, there are none. So why two models? Well, the A100 has a 2.7 inch screen and the A150 has a 3 inch screen. That’s’ it. Go figure.

Max Payne DVD Review

Max Payne DVD Review

Reviewed on 13 March 2009

Having no prior knowledge of the Max Payne video game before seeing Max Payne the film, I think the film was an adequate crime/action drama with average acting and an interesting, if meandering, story line. Let’s just say that the first hour or so really dragged, and then the latter half of the film sped by like it was on, well, speed.
